About MyMP

You are here: Home / About Us

Malaysia is divided into 222 parliamentary constituencies; each voter in his/her respective constituency votes for one Member of Parliament (MP).

The MyMP project is a website that provides an introduction to MPs in Malaysia.

The objectives of the MyMP project are:

  • To provide opportunity for the voters, especially young voters, to get to know their MP;
  • To enhance closer relationships between MPs and voters; and
  • To educate voters about parliamentary democracy.

The MyMP website contains basic information such as work experience and education background of MPs in Malaysia. This information is provided by the MPs themselves directly to the Malaysian Centre for Constitutionalism and Human Rights (MCCHR) through a questionnaire circulated to all MPs; the questionnaire is available here [INSERT LINK TO QUESTIONNAIRE].

I’m an MP. What’s in it for me?

  • My profile as an MP will be more widely disseminated. This MyMP project, which is under the UndiMsia! framework is popular amongst urban youths;
  • Voters are able to know me better (as an MP);
  • I am able to assist citizens to solve problems related to my role as an MP (i.e. problems relating to the federal government).

Do contact us for discussion at [email protected] or via telephone at 03-2201-1454.
